Here is the latest painting.

Incase you're in any doubt about these paintings, I'm looking for the purist form of self expression I can achieve. Trying to express things deep down. Brushstrokes are carefully considered and thought about before execution. Hand prints bring a closeness to the painting that brushstrokes can't achieve. Form expresses the way I think.

This painting exploits the new ground gained in the previous painting and uses it in conjunction with the basic approach adopted in the three previous paintings to that.

Here's another inbetween painting, its a bit of a mess (though I personally still like it and consider it a success) because the ground gained was hard fought but the painting to follow will show why it was worth it.

And I'm through. This is the third one of these medium paintings and I'm now through into a new style of work. I've stripped away all formal structure. This is pure abstract expressionism. No influence, no formality, no representationalism just the self on canvas. Every brush stroke comes from my hand and every decision about form and colour comes from my mind!

This is the second one at this medium size and to be honest its probably a gallant failure. It was ripe to be reworked but I've decided to leave it because it is one of those inbetween paintings showing the transition from one set of paintings to another. The bottom right hand corner shows the direction that the next few paintings are heading.
